Puggle

Published by admin on

Puggles are a crossbreed of the Pug and Beagle. They are a very new designer breed only being first bred around 1990s. They have the appearance of small mastiffs with wrinkles of the pug and longer muzzle of the Beagle. With all crossbreeds, you can never be sure which traits each dog will have, and there are always many inconsistencies.

They are active, intelligent and playful dogs. If you are looking for a great companion for your family or household, you may found your perfect breed.

They require less exercise than other breeds but will still enjoy a good daily walk. They could make a great flat/apartment dog if you could meet their exercise needs. They are very playful dogs, so they should adapt well as long as they get plenty of playtime.

Remember, a bored dog will usually become mischievous, whether it be nuisance barking, chewing or digging. Try to ensure they are occupied with jobs, playtime or plenty of exercise to keep them out of trouble.

They love their families but then bond with one particular person more. They also love children; they will spend hours playing with them.

They pretty much love everybody, including strangers. If you are looking for a good watchdog, you had better look past this breed. They will alert you to people at the door and dangers outside, but they welcome strangers. They may have inherited the barking or howling from the Beagle, so you may want to consider your neighbours before getting one of these guys.

Puggle is a sweet-natured dog who usually lives peacefully with other dogs, cats and small animals brought up within the same household. However, they might still enjoy chasing the neighbourhood cats.

They are very intelligent dogs but a little stubborn, but they are relatively easy to train and work with. Try to keep training exciting and fun and avoid being harsh with them. Identifying their motivation reward early will get you the best results, and it’s normally food.

They have low-maintenance coats that shed moderately all year round, more in Spring and Autumn. As with all designer breeds, coats can vary in every litter, and there are no real guarantees on the amount of shedding you will have. Regular brushing will always help to combat stray hairs.

They can be prone to weight gain. You must ensure they are getting all the exercise and limit the tit-bits.
